About

Paġlagipsi. Greetings, everyone. My name is Chelsey Zibell. In a traditional Iñupiaq introduction, in addition to my name, I would give my hometown, my parents names, and my grandparents names. However, in the interest of preserving their privacy, I will not give names other than my own. I will say that I am from Noorvik, Alaska which is a small town in the northwest part of the state. I am an aspiring writer (MFA and all) who mainly writes poetry and essays dealing with Iñupiaq culture and the complexities of have a mixed identity. I am also a teacher of English Literature, Iñupiaq Language, and Alaska Native Dance (usually not all in the same semester).

It is my hope that this blog will be a space where I can share ideas and post updates on my writing. (I also sometimes use this blog for classes that I take)
